  • Proposed mineral workings threat to Greenways/A10 path near Hauxton/Haslingfield

    We've received some documentation courtesy of somebody who noticed that in Peterborough planning (for some reason) the Rectory Farm between Haslingfield and Hauxton is being considered for a mineral workings site. This would destroy the existing land, including important bridleways and footpaths, and potentially cut off portions of the Haslingfield Greenway and A10 Greenway paths that are being consulted or plan to be consulted. The proposed works would begin in 2022-2024 and last for 9 years. There would be 50 lorry movements a day at the A10 access point, crossing the A10 cycleway.

  • Cycle Enfield Consultation - Church Street to Salmons Brook

    Quoting from the proposal: "This short section will provide an initial link from the A105 major scheme to the Salmons Brook cycle route." Part of Quietway 18.

    The main feature is an improved junction at Bury Street West and Church Street, with a 2.5m wide two-way cycle track to take cyclists from that junction to Blakesware Gardens (and onto the Salmons Brook cycle route).

    Also some rain gardens and other improvements.

  • A10 Stamford Hill and Clapton Common junction consultation

    TfL note that this junction has "one of the highest collision rates in all of Hackney" and so have "come up with some proposals that aim to make this junction safer for all road users".

    The substantive changes include Advanced Stop Lanes for people cycling, continuous footways across some side roads, realignments to traffic islands and the provision of more/longer parking.

  • Lack of cycle routes to Cambridge Business Park, Waterbeach

    My employer is planning to relocate from central cambridge to the Cambridge Business Park (near Waterbeach). There is currently no decent cycle (or footpath!) access to this business park which avoids riding along the A10. I am a confident cyclist but I am not looking forward to riding to work along sections of the A10.

    Are there any plans for cycle route construction which the campaign can, perhaps, help accelerate?

  • Active travel in A10 corridor (south)

    There is a suggestion of a group looking at issues for those cycling in the A10 corridor between M11 J11 and Royston. This is, in part about cycling along the corridor, but mainly about access between villages and access to rail stations. Of course the A10 north of Cambridge has LSTF money, but there are currently few funds available for improvements in this area.
